Wesley Words (March 2010)

You are God’s special creation

I’m ready for spring. That’s why we’re having our Spring Fling Dinner on February 27 – to help spring, well, spring a little earlier!!

I look forward each spring to seeing God’s creation awaken from its winter slumber. Where trees look barren and lifeless, suddenly you see green shoots that foretell new life. This parallels our Lenten journey, too. On February 17, during Ash Wednesday, we were reminded that “from dust we came, to dust we shall return.” But yet, new life comes not just in the spring, but in the resurrection.

You, too, are being made new. Even when exams and assignments sap your energy. Even when you wish you were anywhere but here. Remember – God made YOU special. And gives you exactly what you need to grow, to awaken, into God’s glorious purposes.

May God bless you in the time of waiting, and awakening.

Grace & peace,

Pastor Laura
